Penguin Photographs in AntarcticaI have also been to Antarctica. I know, most of you want to know why. From past experience, if you have to ask the question, you won't understand the answer. But I'll try anyway. Relatively few people have ever been there and I had never been there before. I told you, you wouldn't understand. What was it like? I wouldn't have missed it for the world and I have no real desire to do it again. The scenery was spectacular. The penguins were adorable. That about covers it. Except for penguins, sea birds and the occasional seal there is nothing else there. After 4 days of looking at penguin rookeries I was ready for a change of scenery. (By the way, I did not enjoy crossing Drakes Passage in 25 foot seas.) It has now been a few years since I went to Antarctica and since I originally wrote about it. It is strange how time changes your mind about things. I remember being bored with penguins after 4 days and yet now I really want to go back and do it again. Someday I probably will.
