Whitetail Deer Photographs at Kensington Metro ParkI live near Kensington Metro Park. I have been to many picnics there but never thought of it as a place for wildlife photography until I bought the Michigan Wildlife Viewing Guide listed below. The guide said that Kensington was a great place to photograph white tail deer and boy was it ever right. The deer are very tame, especially near the Nature Center. If you don't mind breaking the rules, some of the deer will eat out of your hand. (If you get caught you will be issued a ticket.) Last weekend I was taking shots of three fawn that would come within 5 feet of me. I will probably be adding some of those shots after I get them developed. The park also has a Blue Heron Rookery and a high population of swans.
